Lovely to visit Lizzie Jewkes and team at Grace Tea Room, Cafe and Garden, 72 Whitby Road, Ellesmere Port, who are contracted to prepare and deliver around 100 meals every weekday for children attending local holiday clubs as part of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.
From chicken curry and sausage and mash to jacket potatoes, fruit and yoghurt, there’s plenty of variety, with different dietary requirements catered for too.
The work has grown so much since Lizzie first got involved last year that the team is now at capacity and she has taken on extra staff. It was lovely to see the handmade thank-you card and gifts they received from one of the local schools in appreciation of their work.
A great example of a local business playing its part in the HAF programme, while providing healthy meals for children during the school holidays.
