It was a pleasure to join the Friends of Reutlingen for their dinner at Hollymere retirement village in Ellesmere Port at the weekend.
The friendship between Ellesmere Port and Reutlingen in Germany has now spanned 60 years, with the twinning bringing people from our two communities together over many decades.
It was great to catch up with members of the group and celebrate the strong and lasting links between our two towns, and to particularly welcome Barbara Bosch, who was Oberbürgermeisterin (Lord Mayor) of Reutlingen for 16 years and throughout that time showed herself to be a steadfast friend of Ellesmere Port.
Thanks to everyone involved in keeping this special friendship going.
