I joined patients, NHS staff, residents and councillors outside Ellesmere Port Hospital to oppose plans to introduce parking charges.
These proposals would unfairly penalise patients, visitors and hardworking NHS staff, while also increasing parking pressure on surrounding residential streets.
I’m also deeply concerned the consultation has been very poor and has certainly not included patient groups, residents or elected representatives, with barriers already installed but not yet in operation. A decision that affects so many people should be based on meaningful engagement. This is simply not good enough.
I’m backing Whitby Health Partnership’s opposition to these plans. More than 2,700 people have already signed the petition.
