I’m so relieved the NHS Eastham Walk-in Centre has now reopened.
This decision followed weeks of pressure and public concern.
I would like to thank everyone who signed the petition I launched — more than 1,300 residents — as this collective demonstration of local support clearly mattered.
What was meant to be a temporary four-week closure had become open-ended, risking the loss of a vital NHS service and forcing vulnerable patients to travel further for care.
I will continue to monitor the situation closely.
