Members will be aware of ongoing concerns raised by residents about a persistent odour affecting Ellesmere Port in recent weeks.
The Environment Agency has now advised me its officers have identified a potential source of the smell. For legal reasons, it is not yet able to name the industrial site involved, but the odour is believed to be linked to a specific process carried out there.
The company concerned has commissioned odour abatement measures and is now implementing a solution. These works are expected to be actioned within the next two weeks and will form part of a strengthened Odour Management Plan.
