Fascinating visit to the Rio Tinto Lithium site in Bromborough, previously part of Arcadium Lithium and, before that, Livent.
Got to handle lithium for the first time — amazingly light thanks to its low density!
Established in 1979, this site employs 72 people, including four apprentices, making specialist lithium chemicals for medicines and for polymers — the plastics, rubber, and other materials we use every day.
You won’t find these products on shop shelves, but they’re essential to everything from packaging to healthcare. Proud to see such skill and innovation here in Bromborough!
