A pleasure to welcome Ellesmere Port-based response officer PC Phil Burgess and his partner, Stephanie, to Parliament ahead of the Police Federation’s National Police Bravery Awards.
Phil was invited to the national ceremony as the overall winner of the Cheshire Police Bravery Awards 2026, following his courageous actions in saving the life of a man experiencing a mental health crisis who was on foot in the live carriageway of the M53.
His courage, professionalism and selfless actions are a credit to Cheshire Police and our local community. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, Phil, and thank you for your outstanding service.
