Several sites in our area have been awarded the Green Flag Award for 2026.
Managed by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Government, the Green Flag Award scheme recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces that are welcoming, well maintained, safe and environmentally sustainable.
The list includes Whitby Park, Elm Grove Park and Rivacre Valley Country Park in Ellesmere Port, as well as Eastham Country Park, nearby Torr Park, Brotherton Park and Dibbinsdale Local Nature Reserve, Bromborough, and Port Sunlight Village, managed by the Port Sunlight Village Trust, which also received Green Heritage Site Accreditation.
New Ferry Butterfly Park, managed by Cheshire Wildlife Trust, received a Green Flag Community Award.
The awards recognise the collective efforts of landowners, site managers, council staff, Friends groups, charities and volunteers. Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved!
