Justin Madders MP has pledged his support to carers across Ellesmere Port and Neston as part of the national Carers Week 2015 awareness campaign.
“Locally there are over 10,500 people who care for a partner, relative or friend - that’s 1 in 8 of those living in Ellesmere Port and Neston - and without the right help and support, caring can have a devastating impact – carers can quickly become isolated, with their physical and emotional health, work and finances all hit hard.
“Carers make a hugely valuable contribution to society and they need help to carry on the work they do. That is why I am behind this initiative to encourage services in our community to think about the needs of carers and reach out to help ensure they don’t miss out on support.
“This Carers Week, I’m asking individuals and organisations to think about what they can do to improve the lives of carers in our community. If local carers have any specific issues with which I may be able to help I can be contacted at: firstname.lastname@example.org or Justin Madders MP, House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.”
Carers Week is made possible by Carers UK joining forces with Age UK, Carers Trust, Independent Age, Macmillan Cancer Support and MS Society.
