Leasehold Consultation

The Government is consulting on whether to ban the sale of leasehold houses in future, requiring all houses to be sold on a freehold basis. While this is a very welcome step, the proposed reforms do not do anything to address the issues that existing leaseholders are facing, including unfair ground-rent clauses and being unable to purchase the freehold at a reasonable price.

I would therefore encourage you to take part in the consultation if you have not already done so, to ensure that the voices of current leaseholders are heard loud and clear as part of this process.
