Justin Madders MP is encouraging people in Ellesmere Port and Neston to “put cholesterol at the heart of health” after visiting a Parliamentary event organised by HEART UK.
“Coronary heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in England and high cholesterol levels are a key risk factor whether as a result of lifestyle, such as poor diet, or genetic conditions.
“222 people in the constituency died of heart disease in 2013 and, whilst there is considerable variation in the quality of heart disease care across England, our excellent local health service is doing all it can to reduce this number.
“However we all need to play our part. If you have any concerns about your cholesterol levels either visit your GP or have a look at the HEART UK website at www.heartuk.org.uk where there is plenty of useful information.”
